Julie has been working in the event world in Ottawa for over 12 years, and has a lot of hustle and experience along with a calm clear head to deal with all the deadlines that come up when planning multiple events at once. Her colleagues say that she masters the craft of event logistics! To bring balance to her life she practices yoga, rides her bike, and snowboards. She loves to play outside! She has been practicing yoga for quite some time now, but when Pure Yoga Ottawa opened doors, it happened at the right time in her life and met sooo many great people! She dreams that one day she too will be able to teach yoga and freelance event/festival planning! She is very happy to be part of the organizing crew for City of Om 2017 and part of Ottawa's yoga community!
Artisan + Vendor Village Curator
Amanda has been building community in the maker world in Ottawa for two years through Freewheeling Craft, and loves being a part of events that have a purpose of bringing people together to support each other. Driven by her goal to help people find conscious alternatives to toxic mainstream beauty products, she founded INDIE apothecary in 2016- a website that sells small batch products that use natural ingredients and are chemical free, and that supports Canadian entrepreneurs. A working hockey-mom to two active kids, she has to consciously work to find balance and gets out to yoga and the local pools whenever she can (the reality of busy modern-day parents). She loves to play outside with her kids, and you can find them at the local beaches + baseball diamonds in the summer, and skating rinks in the winter! She is so excited to be coming onto the city of OM team 2017 to coordinate the artisan village so that Ottawa's yoga community can shop the best of our city's healthy products.
